My Professional History...

My passion for my profession began in 1981 with an internship at PDVSA, the Venezuelan oil company, a Fortune 500-ranked corporation. After a brief stint working for a contractor of the national power and light company, I began my career at PDVSA in 1983.

Over the course of 20 years at PDVSA, I held a range of roles that shaped my expertise and leadership. I started as an Equipment Inspector and progressed to key organizational positions, including Engineering Superintendent and Turnaround Superintendent at the largest petrochemical complex of my country.

In 2004, I restarted my professional journey in the USA with CC Technologies (CCT), a family-oriented company recognized for its excellence in corrosion and materials testing, as well as pipeline integrity assessment. A year later, CCT was acquired by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), a global leader in risk management and quality assurance. At DNV, I served as a Senior Project Engineer and worked on a wide range of high-impact projects for major corporations—often in international locations.

Subsequently, I joined MISTRAS as a Senior Asset Integrity Engineer. In a relatively short time, I led numerous mechanical integrity projects across diverse sectors, including oil & gas, energy, and aerospace.

After another 20 years of professional experience in the USA, I decided in 2024 to embrace a new chapter in my career—this time as an independent consultant. I call this career phase NuevoComienzo, it translates NewBeginning, a reflection of both my roots and my forward-looking mindset.
